After five tedious and miserable years I have finally finished my engineering degree. I am unbelievably happy that I will never be so severely denied free time and creative pursuits again. It'll also be nice to have money once I get a job. What this means is I will finally have the time to consistently make and post art here. It's been my dream to maintain a presence in the art community, and devote serious time to improving my art and helping others. All I need now is to get some good ideas and to revive the creativity that university thoroughly murdered.

When my new Wacom pen arrives today (I destroyed my Wacom pen in the dumbest way possible Slam Head On Table) I will finally be able to finish the painting I've been working on. I hope you guys like this painting, it's one that makes no sense and literally no one asked for. It's a completely random idea that I for reasons unknown took to completion. I think it's cool.

I'm thinking of doing more to be active here like writing journals more often; making tutorials for painting, 3d animation, electronics, etc.; posting sketches. I dunno. If anyone has any ideas of what they'd like to see let me know!

I've decided I really don't like the artwork I've made in the past and I'm sick of seeing them so I'm dumping all of my art into the scraps folder. I'll basically keep moving art to scraps until I'm finally happy with the quality of art I produce. I think my skills art getting there, so soon I'll hopefully actually be happy with my gallery.

This year I made a big list of 52 goals I want to complete, some large some mundane. I'll be completing one a week. The purpose of this it to create a large range of new experiences to make my life more interesting, to develop new skills, and produce some cool art. One goal a week is completely insane however, so I'll see how well I can do. One way or another though I'm still going to be doing a lot of cool things this year as part of my resolution and can't wait to see what comes of all of it. I'm going to find some way to chronicle every goal I complete, so once I figure that out I'll post so anyone interested can check it out.

Hope everyone has an excellent 2017! w00t!

Oh wow my last journal was in January. I guess I really haven't had much to say this year. Well that will all change next year. I recently found out I only have one more semester and am graduating in spring! Soon I'll finally become an engineer, and will have time and resources to work on art. I cannot wait for that kind of freedom. Next year is going to be one amazing year if even half my plans work out.

School is getting out for winter break soon. What kind of artwork should I do over the break? I really want to start posting more often, which means doing simpler stuff than the paintings I've been doing. I'm interested in getting more involved with the community here so posting more casual artwork and sketch dumps, making journals about interesting stuff going on, possibly try my hand at some tutorials maybe. What do you think? I'm open to input and suggestions.

Since August I've been sketching, every single day, a little in my sketchbook. Recently I've been doing a bunch of fantasy and anthro sketches so I'll definitely have to do more artwork in those genres.

Anyway, I just wanted to show that I'm still alive and get your input for what stuff I should start making. Thanks for popping in!

I'm excited for this year. Things seem to be really coming together here at the beginning of this year. I have a number of projects in progress that are going really well. All of them are projects I've wanted to do for a long time and this year I'll finally be able to complete and release them. I've got a frame by frame animation I should be able to finish this month and release and I've got parts for a quadruped robot I'm designing coming in on Friday! I'm also almost ready to begin animating a 3d animation. I'm so excited to show these projects off.

This year I've finally decided to do an art challenge! I've always wanted to do one of those 365 day drawing challenges but I just don't have the time so I got the idea to do a speed painting a week. Seeing :iconhunternif:'s excellent artwork and his awesome speed paintings made me realize doing a 2 hour speed painting every week would be perfect for a challenge.

Hm, maybe I can also make the goal of commenting on someone else's stuff at least once a week, maybe leave a critique so I can give back all of the help I've received from everyone over the years. I've tried it in the past but failed as a result of school and other crap but I think I might be able to do it this year since I'll be posting a painting once a week anyway. While I'm at it I think I'll also try posting a journal every month, hopefully I'll have something interesting to say each month.

Lets see, what else? Oh yeah I've also made the goal of reaching 100 consecutive push-ups. I currently max out at 80, so I'm really hoping this year I can finally make it to the glorious 100 push-ups point.

Finally I feel the need to say how excited I am for Awesome Games Done Quick 2016, a video game speed-running week long event that's streamed on Twitch almost consecutively for an entire week. It started today so if anyone's interested in checking it out it'll be going till the end of Saturday.  gamesdonequick.com/ The crazy stuff these speed-runners do is incredible.

How long have you been on DeviantArt?
I've been here since 2007. Man that feels like a long time ago.
What does your username mean?
A robotic chicken. Unfortunately at the time Robot Chicken was already a thing.
Describe yourself in three words.
    Curious, ambitious, intellectual.
Are you left or right handed?
    Lefties of the world unite!
What was your first deviation?
A cool glowy robot orb thing I rendered in 3ds max. Man Have I come a long way. I'm still rather fond of that render though.
What is your favorite type of art to create? (I'm removing the 'u'. It has no place here.)
Either digital paintings or 3d animation. I like 3d animation more probably, because it's more technical and has lots of room to do some really cool stuff.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Semi realistic digital painting. If I could achieve that kind of effect I could actually start to make money off my art and get a cool job, or do commissions, or make good concept art for my 3d animation, etc.
What was your first favorite?
  Probably a dragon.
What type of art do you tend to favorite the most?
Fan art, animal drawings, anime looking art, and any cool designs I want to use as inspiration later.
Who is your all-time favorite deviant artist?
That honor goes to hibbary. She's an amazing artist who interacts with her watchers. Definitely one of the artists who really inspired me to improve and to get involved in DA.
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
Oh man, there's so many people! Hibbary would be awesome, I could get her to sign my book. DreamKeepers would be cool, they have a sweet webcomic. MinnaSundberg is another artist I've followed for years, her artwork is filled with imagination. A-Sleepy-Dragon would be a blast to meet, we talk on occasion and the conversation's always super interesting.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
I'ma just say every deviant I've encountered has inspired me to improve my art work. The creativity I've encountered here has definitely lead me to accomplish many of the things I have. Without everyone here I wouldn't be the artist I am now (this statement is dripping with cliché.) My creativity would've dried up and shriveled long ago without this community.
What are your preferred tools to create art?
Photoshop CS6, Blender, Wacom Intuos Pro medium, Pencil and paper.
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Heh, if I had the option it would be any place that's beautiful and interesting. Unfortunately for the moment I only create it at home in front of my computer.
What is your favorite DeviantArt memory?
Being encouraged by the awesome comments by people who discovered my art when I found deviantart years ago.
